The SLIP DROPPER
A revolutionary system in three sizes for all species of fish. The Slip Dropper consists of the Slip Dropper Spoon and dropper hook. The angler runs his line through the Slip Dropper spoon and ties to the hook. He can then adjust to any length of dropper line between spoon and hook. The spoon will act as a lure with a short dropper length and the spoon will act as an attractor with a longer dropper length.
Ice Fishing And Open Water
Just as slip bobbers have pioneered adjustable depth settings, the Slip Dropper system has revolutionized adjustable depth settings for dropper fishing. Dropper fishing is essentially a method where you can adjust the length of line between your spoon and the hook. When fishing for walleye a short three-inch dropper will work well, but as the action slows you can pull up and adjust the length between the spoon and lure top say six inches. This will allow you to catch less aggressive walleye or perch if they move in.
The Slip Dropper System consists of six components. The Slip Dropper Spoon which attracts and entices, two line snubbers which affix to the ends of the spoon to keep your dropper line from slipping, and a single hook Attractor Bug or a treble attractor hook. You also need a good quality ball bearing swivel (not included) to keep the system from twisting. The Slip Dropper Bug has a slow fall to it when tipped with spikes or a waxie. But the Slip Dropper Spoon will fall faster. This allows you to fish a deadly slow fall presentation in deep water. You can also use the Slip Dropper Bug by itself when shallow water fishing. The Bug offers a very slight presentation. For walleye or gamefish you might want to use the colored Attractor Hook in place of the Slip Dropper Bug.
The Slip Dropper will work better in 10 feet of water or deeper. While the smaller size 10 Slip Dropper is preferred for panfish, sometimes a larger size 4 will work better with a long length of dropper line especially in deep water, where the heavier spoon will get you down deep quickly. Another deadly technique is to use your favorite lure like a Shrimpo or a Rocker under the Slip Dropper Spoon instead of the attractor hook or Slip Dropper Bug.
